With Jenny, who failed the road test the first time by driving over the curb.
His and hers bikes.

Yes, please.

When not obsessing over Superfuzz, Chris and Jenny make friends with a Whippet.

Don't you want to be a part of this?
My usual idea for an exotic summer getaway is anywhere that can be reached via my Huffy bike, “Blue Betty.” It can include such far-flung locales as Coney Island, Red Hook, Chinatown, what have you. While I highly recommend any of these fine neighborhoods, sometimes a real road trip is in order. Where else can you eat roadside takeout with abandon, put the iPod on Shuffle for long and windy hours, and stock up on souvenir backscratchers and shot glasses?

Okay, like I even need to recommend the Ford Mustang. It’s obviously a no-brainer as the ultimate road trip car. And as if there isn’t enough to covet about the new Mustang, now they’ve got us obsessed with their new ringtones. Want to get an official Mustang ringtone for, let’s see, free? No need to take the road test. Simply text “JANE” to FORD1 on your mobile phone and receive access to ringtones and wallpapers of that good-looking automotive icon you know and love, Ford Mustang. Now every time you use your cell you’ll be inspired to plan a trip.

Standard messaging, data and other rates may apply. Available on participating carriers and with Internet-enabled mobile phones only. Complimentary Mustang downloads are also accessible via www.fordvehicles.com/mustang.

One of my biggest road-trip stresses? That would be awkwardly asking the first neighbor or friend who is sucker enough to pick up the phone to feed my pets. Yeah, I know it’s throwing food in a bowl but frankly I’d rather just pay someone I can trust and get it over with. I’m sure my cat, Superfuzz, would agree. Considering that my boyfriend, Chris, worries so much he leaves the radio on for him when we take a walk, I was thrilled to find Mobilemutts.com. If you happen to live in the borough of Brooklyn, give these guys a holler and they will take better care of your pet than you do (okay, almost, obsessive one). Visit www.mobilemutts.com and worry not about your pals. They’re in excellent hands and there are treats! Yay.

If you’re anything like me, your elementary school years may have been spent on the local soccer team. Fashion brand Hummel is bringing back soccer teams for grown-ups this summer at Hummel Sensational Street Soccer on New York’s Lower East Side. Teams for the festival include the Lower East Side Girls Club (we hear their team will be wearing pink ballgowns), a team of stewardesses and more. So come on, you can talk your friends into anything. Why not this? Visit www.sensationalstreetsoccer.com and enter a team of your own to play at the event this September 9. It’s for a good cause: the ladies of the Lower East Side Girls Club. So let’s work on those goalie skills, shall we?
